Our Community

The Newbury Elementary School is located approximately 30 miles north of Boston in the coastal community of Newbury, Massachusetts. With a town population of close to 7000, the enrollment at our school includes approximately 425 students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6. We are part of the larger Triton Regional School District serving the towns of Newbury, Salisbury and Rowley. Students from the three town elementary schools send students to the Triton Regional Middle School (Grades 7 and 8) and Triton Regional High School (Grades 9-12).

We believe that all children have the potential to learn and a strong collaborative partnership between the home and the school is the single most important factor that will ensure the success of every child. To that end, we encourage and support the involvement of parents in the education process. Our hope is that this website acts as an additional resource for information related to our students’ educational experience at NES. Goals of the School

At Newbury Elementary School students, staff, and administrators will learn with high standards and expectations. Students will engage in child-centered and authentic tasks. A positive learning environment and climate will be provided for all students as they learn across multiple academic disciplines. A myriad of effective instructional strategies will be utilized by teachers, and taught to students to promote independent learning. Technology will enhance curriculum, research, story writing and presentations. Students will become environmentally aware and aesthetically sensitive. The school will continue to be a safe haven where staff and students feel physically and emotionally secure. In a partnership with the community at large, we will learn together to appreciate and embrace diversity, treat each other with respect and dignity, and utilize resources to provide for the success of all students.
