School Council
As part of the Massachusetts Education Reform Act of 1993, each public school is required to maintain a School Site Council. The Council’s purpose is to promote local decision-making by providing support and advice to the building Principal. The Principal shall have the responsibility for defining the composition of and forming the group pursuant to a representative process approved by the Superintendent and School Committee.
Each year the Site Council develops a school improvement plan outlining the goals for the coming year(s). These goals outline the priorities for the school in terms of resource allocation and focus. Copies of the plan are available in the school office. Each council holds monthly meetings that are open to the public. We encourage you to attend.
Dates for the 2022-2023 NES School Council Meetings will be posted once the calendar has been agreed upon by the council. If you are interested in serving on the council, please email Beth Yando at beth.yando\@tritonschools.org.
